about

Once described by President Richard Nixon as "the most dangerous man in America," psychologist Timothy Leary offers readings based on the ancient manual, the Tibetan Book of the Dead. According to Leary's essay in the liner notes, the manual is really a guide for the living to examine and expand consciousness--in other words, a guide to the psychedelic experience. This was once attainable only through years of spiritual exercise; Leary notes that psychedelic drugs "may well be the most important step in the evolution of the human species." Side 1 of the album is "Going Out"; Side 2, "Coming Back."
